4:30pmPDT - Right now there is 1/8th of a mile visibility on HWY 62 with gusts to 45 MPH out of the NW.

6amPDT - I -10 and Gene Autrey Trail - Gene Autrey Trail is closed between I-10 and Vista Chino in Palm Springs due to blowing sand and reduced visibility. Expected to be closed until further notice. Use teh Hwy 111 exit in Whitewater, Indian Ave. and Date Palm Dr. if you need to access Palm Springs today.

4pmPDT - Wind has picked up in the last hour. 15 MPH sustained with gusts to 20 MPH. Blowing dust evident.

8pmPDT - Wind continues to obscure visibilities with continuous speeds of 10-15 MPH with gusts to 25 MPH.

3pmPDT - Steady Wind 10 MPH from the N and NE. No gusts to speak of. The interesting feature is the temperature: 74 degrees!

4:00amPST - Light rain falling at the present time.

3:00pmPST - Heavy rain I-10 between Palm Desert and HWY 62. Heavy rain continues on Hwy 62 all the way to 29 Palms. Flooding observed on Hwy 62 and Park Blvd in downtown Joshua Tree, with traffic lanes reduced to one lane each direction. Hwy 62 is passable with speeds of 45-55 MPH with pockets of standing water along  the shoulders. Thunder is rumbling     also. No winds to speak of. I have received 1.06 inches of rain at my house in 29 Palms. Clouds  and fog are beginning to drop/form, reducing visibility in some areas.

11:30amPDT - Strong winds have forced the closure of Gene Autry Trail from Via Escuela to I-10 this morning. No word on when it will re-open. Winds continue to blow SW 10-20 MPH with gusts to 35 MPH.

12:00pmPDT - Temperature has reached 109º with 5% Humidity. Wind is calm.

7:00pmPDT - Sustained wind 15-20 MPH from the N with gusts to 30 MPH. Blowing sand and dust with 1/2 mile visibility.

3:00pmPDT - 3:00pmPDT - Thunderstorm with pea-hail. Wind gusts to 25 MPH SE; .12" rain.

Strong winds have forced the closure of Indian Avenue from Vista Chino to I-10 AND Gene Autry Trail from Via Escuela to I-10 this afternoon. No word on when it will re-open. Winds continue to blow SW 20-30 MPH with gusts to 45 MPH. Visibility is 1/8 - 1/4 mile on I-10 with traffic slowing to 45 MPH between Whitewater and Indio. Reduced visibility, blowing dust and sand is making for treacherous driving conditions.

4:00pmPDT - Heavy rain, 1.75" since 2 pm; Adobe Rd closed in 29 Palms between Amboy Rd and the Main Gate to Marine Base. 6" debris across HWY 62
