MONSOON FORECAST CENTER
ONTARIO WEATHER SERVICE
SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
JULY 5, 2008 - 10:00AM PDT

California - Isolated pop ups can be expected in the Eastern desert but remote chances of thunderstorms exist.

Arizona - Severe thunderstorms will be peppered across the state today. Most probably across, as always the Mogollon Rim into Flagstaff. The most thunderstorm activity in severe levels will be down in the Southern AZ area and Tucson is in the firing zone for severe thunderstorms later in the afternoon and evening. Expecting a number of them there as convective parameters skyrocket. Major flooding will be a concern under the strongest cells.

New Mexico - The Eastern part of the state will remain thunderstorm free while the Western and Central section under our severe thunderstorm watch gets blasted.

Storm movement in all storms today is nearly stationary so flooding is a major concern.
